WHITEOUT - DEFINITION

Condition of diffuse light when no shadows are cast.

The light coming from above is approximately equal to

the light reflected from below. There is no visible horizon.

No surface irregularities are visible, but a dark object

may be clearly seen. Depth perception and visual perspective

rapidly approach the vanishing point.

HOW TO AVOID A WHITEOUT: GUIDELINES

DO  be sure to get all the information you need.

DO  let a specialist know if you are new to the area.
DO  use your eyes. Trust your eyes to see any conditions changing in front of you.
DO  take action in case you detect deteriorating circumstances.

IN CASE OF WHITEOUT:

DO  stay where you are. Wait.
DO  be honest – with yourself and others around you about any limitations and insecurities.
DO  be aware that the presence of others can influence your decision-making and your willingness to take risks.
DO  stay with the others. Use your eyes. Wait.

SPAN THE CANVAS ON THE STRETCHER.

HANG IT!

3. ERASE
